His nine recordings have garnished praise such as ‘Best Contemporary Jazz Guitar Album’ (Tune Up Magazine), a nomination for ‘Record of the Year’ (Ad Lib Magazine, Tokyo), and ‘Best New Artist’ (Radio & Records Magazine). Richard is also a Senior Professor and Chair of the Studio/Jazz Guitar department at the University of Southern California. His USC students are working with a diverse array of artists from Maynard Ferguson, Ray Charles and the L.A.
